Rivera Private Events:
Located in Downtown Los Angeles, one block from the Staples Center and LA Live and two blocks from the Convention Center, Rivera Restaurant offers several options of private space. Each room/ area offers distinct features to create a one of a kind experience for you and your guests. Rivera is the best and highest rated Latin restaurant not only in DTLA but in all of the Los Angeles area.
The Sangre Room:
This Spanish-themed dining room evokes the dramatic culinary heritage of the Iberian Peninsula and of the many other cultures that influenced it: central Europe, Rome, North Africa, and the Middle East. As a result, Sangre’s signature menu evokes a wide variety of Mediterranean cuisines. Sangre’s serene-yet-powerful ambiance features such distinctive design highlights as a blood-red chandelier, conquistador-helmet lighting sconces, and the award-winning bullfight photography of Michael Crouser. In addition, one wall features Chef John Rivera Sedlar’s handcrafted private extra-añejo tequila, in specially made bottles under lock-and-key for members only. The Sangre Room comfortably welcomes up to 34 guests for a seated event, and can accommodate up to 50 guests for a standing reception.
The Samba Room:
Playa Bar and Red Dragon:
The foods of Mexico’s coastal regions encourage a more casual, sociable approach to dining, reflected in the communal-table seating in our Playa dining area. Guests here have a choice of two seating areas. The two-sided Playa Bar, which seats 13 guests, faces an exhibition cooking area. Here, our culinary staff prepares such specialties as fresh seafood cocktails and our signature handmade (and widely admired) tortillas florales. The large, square counter known as “Red Dragon” is named for the rare variety of Chinese marble from which it has been fashioned. An abalone-shell chandelier hangs above its butcher-block center, helping to define this community table as an ideal environment for intimately sized dinners seating up to 16 guests.
Rivera offers a restaurant buyout option and can accommodate up to 150 guests.
